Ernesto Barros Jarpa Ernesto Barros Jarpa (7 July 1894 — 15 July 1977) was a Chilean lawyer, academic, writer, journalist, diplomat and politician, who was also member of the Liberal Party. He is recognised for his political work during 3 different governmental periods as Minister of Foreign Relations, the last of them during World War II. The Barros Jarpa sandwich is named after him.
