| Sumario: | The followling research shows the need for translators and interpreters in El Salvador, and the need for creating a degree program in translation and interpretation at the University of El Salvador. El Salvador and the rest of the Central American countries maint a in scientific, technical, educational, economic, and other relations with many countries where English in the native language or where English is used a s a link in the various exchanges which very often take place in the aforementioned fields. As a result, more and more persons are learning English today in order to widen their cultural horizons, avoid communication problems which are (or could be Clue to the language barrier, and exchange ideas with those countries where English and not Spanish is used. However, not all the persons working at public and private institutions have the opportunity to attend a school where they can require a good commant of the English language. |
