| Résumé: | This is the 41st year of publication of our textbook, which began as a compendium of "answers" to a very large set of questions developed by members of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) for the Emergency Medicine Board Certification Examination. The first edition of ACEP was developed in 1978 as "The Study Guide," and in 1985 matured into the first of 34 years of McGraw Hill editions. This ninth edition continues to expand in scope and depth that we could not have anticipated 41 years ago. We continue to provide clinically focused information for all students and professionals of emergency medicine, from students and residents, to emergency physicians, primary care physicians, EMTs, and paramedics. We believe that each subsequent edition demonstrates the essential contemporary involvement of emergency medical care for individual patients as well as for the health of the public. |
