“…ABSTRACT: The protection of the Salvadoran State towards the elderly and its normative regulation Regarding the right to food and a decent pension, it has been a debt on the part of the governments in El Salvador, for many years these rights have been forgotten since most of the older adults do not receive food aid nor do they have access to a minimum pension This has led to the problems faced by this part of the population becoming more acute with the high costs of the basic basket. The regulation of the fundamental rights recognized in international treaties means that El Salvador has a long way to go in this matters of food and pension, since both the current pension system and the as the existing regulations on food, to get to have a true inclusion of older adults to these rights, the current pension system is in decline, the government is considering a comprehensive reform in this area based on the principle of solidarity Another factor that affects the elderly is discrimination and marginalization that they suffer daily, this leads to negatively affecting the standard of living of this part of the population. population clearly this leads to violations of fundamental rights recognized in our constitution which are the right of equality which all people have the right to do treated equally…”
