“...Having as objective: To determine the impact of counseling given by staff of nursing in the prenatal period, of the Community Health Unit Specialized Family Community, San Miguel; Methodology: the research is quantitative, descriptive, retrospective documentary type, The population was divided in two groups 6 nursing resources and 173 clinical records of the pregnant women registered from January to June 2018; The data collection technique was checklist and questionnaire; Results: 36% of pregnant women have received at least 4 controls during their pregnancy, 30% received 3 controls, 27% 5 and 7% received more than 5 controls, according to results, the opportunity to provide counseling in each prenatal period, fulfilling regulations with its approach and contents achieving a happy term delivery, 27% of pregnant women received 2 counseling sessions, 21% did not receive any counseling during their prenatal controls, 16% have received 1 counseling, 15% 3 councils, 11% have received 4 councils; in most there is non-compliance to the regulations of maternal care in relation to the education that must be provide to the surrogate mother during her controls through the councils; the 66 % does not provide feedback on the contents provided in the previous control, much less if you have applied it for the benefit of your health and that of the unborn baby, 66% of the pregnant women presented morbidities, within these 39% presented UTI, 12% urinary tract infection plus Vaginosis, 5% presented Vaginosis; 100% of the nursing staff answered incorrect information regarding the content to develop in the first trimester of pregnancy, which shows a lack of knowledge on the part of the personnel with respect to the contents to be address in the first trimester of pregnancy Conclusions: there is no presence of counseling in the total clinical records of pregnant women and in each control received during her gestational period, there is non-compliance with the regulations of the maternal care in relation to the education that should be provided to the pregnant woman during her controls through the councils, since they are not addressed the components according to the standard, it is evident that there is limited knowledge by part of the staff regarding the contents to be covered in each period, Recommendations: based on the results of the study carried out, it is necessary to that at the different levels of care and especially in the ucsf there be evaluated and monitor compliance with maternal care regulations, with emphasis on the fulfillment of the educational component through the councils...”
