“…ABSTRACT: The transboundary micro-basin of the Olominas River serves as a source of water supply drinking water in the municipality of Perquín, is located in the municipalities of Perquín, Arambala and Joateca to the north of Morazán, El Salvador and in the south of the municipality of Yarula in Honduras, due to its importance for the municipality of Perquín, it becomes necessary to carry out a hydrological diagnosis to improve the water management of the micro-basin, during the investigation the geomorphology using the parameters proposed by Horton (1932-1945) and Shumm (1956), the healthy vegetation with the help of Landsat 8 satellite images to calculate the index of normalized vegetation (NDVI) and compare the same index in different years and thus observe changes in the health of the vegetation; The water balance of the micro-basin was calculated as a result obtained the values of the input and output variables of the hydrological cycle; It was graphed behavior of rainfall, flows and temperatures using the SWAT program as a hydrographic modeling tool with a data series 1979-2014, the geomorphology indicates that the micro-basin shows low water retention, a property that was corroborated by the water balance, only 32% of the water received can be retained, due to its terrain hilly, with a drainage density that indicates that it is slightly impermeable; Also I know shows a vegetation change of 12.46% from 2014 to 2018, finally with the results obtained, a decrease in the availability of water is detected, a decrease in maximum flows, danger of flooding and alteration in the healthy vegetation of the transboundary micro-basin of the Olominas River, finally the deficiencies with which the municipality of Olominas has to deal with are shown. …”
