| Whakarāpopotonga: | This work hypothesizes that teaching cooperatives provide a solid alternative for the future of the Spanish teaching centers. Certainly they are a reality related to the moment, but the challenges facing the education sector in the near and half future, may be faced with a greater chance of providing quality, efficiency and overall, from the perspectives of excellence based in an ideological, economic and professional approach such as that as offered by teaching cooperatives. To demonstrate the working hypothesis, in the first part of this article a concise overview of the history of teaching cooperatives has been developed from first steps at the dawn of the 20th century until our days specially those related to its evolution in Spain. In the second part we analyze the structure, characteristics and problems in those teaching cooperatives and its projection in a world characterized by globalization, new technologies, information and knowledge all of which impacts directly on teaching All of this leads to predict in the immediate future that teaching cooperatives will be imposed, and given the assumptions of this paper mainly in the private centers where they are actually an alternative which will be consolidated in the future. |
