| Abstract: | Many and varied resource materials can be used in the teaching of students at this stage, and it is clear that not all material is adapted to the learners' characteristics and needs. [...]it is necessary teacher training in selection and classification of materials to support the teaching-learning process. There are many and varied material resources that can be used in the teaching of students at this stage, and it is clear that not all materials are adapted to the learners' characteristics and needs. [...]it is necessary a training of the teacher in selection and classification of materials to support the teaching-learning process. Domenech and Vines (1997) agree that the basic function of materials, is to complement and serve as a basis for educational activity that takes place in any educational space. [...]innovative and motivating functions will help in the educational itinerary in acquiring new knowledge. Parcerisa (2010) also refer to the functions performed by the use of materials in the teaching / learning process, such as being structuring elements of reality; to help control of the learning to acquire; to be consumer products; methodological guidance; of support in the construction of learning; motivating. [...]these functions thatteaching resources used in education perform, continues commenting Rodriguez (2005), must be tied to the critical attitude that the teacher has to have when choosing materials and resources in accordance to the needs, interests and characteristics of children, and be supported through the teamwork of the entire educational community of the cycle of child education, when the development of teaching materials, the organization and systematization of the content, the type of methodology used, and finally, in assessing the suitability of the materials used. Children, therefore, can repeat exercises that material as many times as they wish to, if they want, get it right.
