It is a kind of trend to test students' English ability by use Computer-Assisted Testing system in English teaching. Through investigating Computer-Assisted Testing systems at home and abroad, this paper points out that there exist some problems and weak points in the realtime testing part: (1) in the existing system, type of testing item is not rich and diversified enough; (2) in system with unified controlled process, the disposal of network interruption malfunction is not humanized enough; (3) most system cannot run with cross-platform feature. To solve these problems and weak points, the author proposes a developing technology solution of realtime testing subsystem in Computer-Assisted English Testing, implements the diversification of type of testing item, realtime testing disconnection reconnecting and the cross-platform feature. First, this paper analyses the problem and put forward the solution; Then we make the requirement analyse for the realtime testing subsystem; finally, according to requirement, we design and implementation of the subsystem, and emphasize the technology solutions of problems. The realtime testing subsystem support most types of English testing item, and satisfy English teaching and testing requirement; the reconnection of disconnection between testing server and client make the testing process more humanized; Through the research and implementation of cross-platform feature, the system can run on different operating systems, which broke through the limit single
