520 3 |a Microsoft is integrating threat detection technology and automated remediation capabilities for everything from email to PCs to infrastructure to create a single cybersecurity experience in its Microsoft 365 subscription services, a move that comes understaffed and overworked security teams try to address the rapidly expanding and evolving threat landscape. In a blog post in May, Karanbir Singh, principal program manager of enterprise and security at Microsoft, outlined multiple steps the company is taking to take passwords out of the equation, including Windows Hello biometric log-in, which he said is now being used by more than 47 million users, and Windows Hello for Business, which is being used in more than a million commercial devices by more than 5,000 businesses. At Ignite, company officials said that customers can now access Azure Active Directory-connected apps through Microsoft Authenticator, replacing passwords with multi-factor sign-in that combines the smartphone and fingerprint, face or PIN.
