| Whakarāpopotonga: | The article reveals some aspects of the emergence of Ukrainian songs associated with socio-political conditions in Ukraine in the XIX century. In the perception of contemporaries, the Ukrainian tone was combined with ideas about the Cossacks. A typical example of the Ukrainian melodies of that time can serve as a widely distributed and placed in printed collections a song of a lyrical character «The Cossack was riding behind the Danube" composed by the "Cossack-poet» S. Klimovsky. |
