520 3 |a When asked by the Editors of this journal to undertake a survey of recent work on computer-assisted instruction (CAI) in economics, the author had a few misgivings. For one thing, a paper on an assigned topic, by either student or professor, seldom results in seminal research. For another, the problem of attempting to do justice to the work of some thirty-two different authors, by summarizing their research (embodied in twenty- two mostly unpublished papers), represents an awesome task.
