For OS/2 device drivers, an improvement would be to code in a high-level language rather than to use assembly language. A practical and proven method of writing OS/2 device drivers in the C programming language is presented. The C language was chosen because of its documented suitability as a systems programming language and because of its universal availability for use on small systems.
