Security of database management systems is needed to ensure that sensitive information is secured. Whether it is a small organization or a big organization, the performance and security are essential factors to keep in mind when choosing which system to trust with housing and managing confidential information. With this in mind, is there a direct correlation between the security and performance of a database management system? Research with the Oracle MySQL 8.0 database management system, Microsoft, or MS, SQL Server database management system, and Wix Database Collections database feature allows hands-on maneuvering of data. Performance metrics such as Performance Monitor and Database Engine Tuning Advisor allow for several metrics to be evaluated. The roles and permissions granted within the database management systems and Wix users are reviewed as this is the initial security measure placed. The security measures that are set and the performance of the database management systems do not affect one another.
