| Resumen: | Breaking down the glass ceilings that keep women and members of minority groups out of the top executive suites is going to take time, but U.S. Labor Secretary Lynn Martin says corporate America is making progress. Last August, Martin released a report that decried the invisible but real barriers that confront people who are not white men as they try to climb the corporate ladder. She pledged to use her office to help shatter this so-called glass ceiling. "There is a commitment on the part of participants to try to find ways to work together to change the workplace culture," [Fredrica Gray] said. "We want to help break through the glass ceilings and glass walls we talked about at the first meeting." |
