This case study investigated whether implementation factors utilized in the medical device and industrial equipment industries influence manufacturing execution project success. Investigative research at four enterprise organizations that implemented manufacturing execution system projects provided data through interviews and questionnaires. Triangulating the data collected against industry publications, interviews, questionnaires, and past project artifacts provided a solid platform for determining possible correlations. The study findings include how project methodology influenced project success, how change management processes can impact the overall success, and the importance of well-documented acceptance criteria of implementation factors. Findings also exposed the critical nature of internal workshops and global implementation templates. | |
