| Resum: | Commodore International Ltd., bloodied in recent months as sales of its mainstay Commodore 64 computer trailed off, is staking its future on a yet-to- be-announced computer that is described as revolutionary by those who have seen it. The achievements of this new computer, called Amiga, in video quality, sound capabilities and speed of execution will far surpass those of its competitors, according to people who have used Amiga prototypes. However, despite the reported superiority of the Amiga--whose technical features will set the pace in personal computers for the next five years, according to one analyst--industry-watchers say it does not guarantee a secure future for Commodore. |
