抄録:University students’ lives during COVID-19 allowed them various social and academic experiences that transformed their lives and their commitment to the environment. This article evaluates the impact of the learning unit (LU), “Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development,” taught to all students of UANL (Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León) on consumption habits and environmental culture during the COVID-19 pandemic. We considered the target population of the students both from the Faculty of Chemistry (FCQ, Facultad de Ciencias Químicas) and from the Faculty of Economics (FAECO, Facultad de Economía) to compare the impact of the LU before and during the COVID-19 pandemic with regard to various indicators of consumption habits. A quantitative method was used based on the results of the two surveys conducted, one at the FAECO, during the pandemic, and the other at the FCQ, before the pandemic; both faculties, FAECO and FCQ are divisions of UANL. For this purpose, a study was carried out with a representative stratified statistical design by gender and semesters, with an exploratory–descriptive nature and a quantitative approach. The results show that during COVID-19, university students showed positive consumption habits regarding disposables after completing the LU. One of the areas of opportunity for future research is the comparability of student results before and after taking the course.
