Omschrijving
Samenvatting:The purpose of this study was to discover information about the personal and professional use of computers by home economics educators. The findings indicate that more home economics educators had computers at work than did not, while ten percent had computers at home. Word processing was the most used application. More software was purchased from dealers than from other sources. At home, the computer was most often located in the study/home office. At work, it was located in the building where the respondent worked. Computers were used more in nutrition courses than in other classes. Availability of software limited the educational use of computers. The recommendations include conducting follow-up studies to determine the reasons that home economics educators are not fully using computers, to determine whether changing the location of the computer at work would facilitate its expanded use, and to determine the influence computers have on family dynamics. Home economics educators are encouraged to articulate their program needs and to cooperate with programmers in developing software for all home economics areas.
