| Resumen: | The IT sector in Hong Kong, China is expected to accelerate slightly in 2025 and then grow at a rate that outpaces local GDP throughout the medium-term forecast period to 2028. The integration of AI solutions into economic activity is expected to be an IT market growth driver over the medium term because of investment in servers and data centres, public cloud spending, innovation and new solutions, and the role of AI in increasing IT industry productivity and accelerating digital transformation. However, there is uncertainty in the outlook for Hong Kong and other markets outside the US-aligned technological ecosystem because of restricted access to leading-edge GPUs and large language models. Meanwhile, enhanced data services integration with the Mainland Chinese economy could be an avenue for growth for IT firms in Hong Kong, China. |
