| Resumen: | The IT market growth trend in Bangladesh is forecast to be stable year-on-year in 2025 but will accelerate in US dollar terms over the medium term as the economic backdrop become more supportive. Moderating inflation and taka stabilisation will encourage investment in digital projects in Bangladesh, a trend that has considerable growth potential from a low base of per capita spending and digital intensity. Foundational investments in data centres, cloud services, domestic and submarine network capacity, and upskilling of the workforce are also creating a stronger framework for growth in IT spending over the medium term. Advances in AI could increase capacity and lower costs for software integration projects, accelerating digitisation, but could also be a long-term threat to the development of the export-focused IT outsourcing sector. |
