Descripción
Resumen:Aphids are an important group of agricultural crops pests, which cause weaknesses and reduce the quantity and quality of yields by feeding the plant sap. They can also cause significant damages by transmitting viral pathogens. This study aimed to identify different species of aphids and their host plants in different habitats in the southern areas of Zagros Mountains. The specimens were collected directly from their host plants in spring 2020 to summer 2021. In total, 66 aphid species belonging to 32 genera were identified on 64 host plant species. Of these, Macrosiphoniella umarovi Narzikulov, 1972 is found for the first time in Iran. In addition, This study identified 22 species for the first time from Fars province as well as five species from Kerman province.
