520 3 |a In this article, a conceptualization is proposed of regenerative rural development (RRD) based on a literature review and bibliometric analysis conducted using Web of Science and Scopus. Trends in authors, articles, and institutions related to rural development and regeneration are analyzed. The analysis, performed with VOSviewer and Bibliometrix, reveals that RRD is an emerging paradigm with a multidimensional approach aimed at healing the devastation caused by extractive models. The methodology utilized the PRISMA methodological framework and bibliometric analysis. The results demonstrate an upward trend in intellectual production related to regenerative processes in rural areas. Anglo-Saxon countries are the most prolific publishers on the subject, but there is emerging interest from countries such as China and Spain in relation to RRD. Finally, the conclusions focus on defining RRD as a multidimensional process of co-evolution and systemic interrelation that heals the devastation caused by extractive approaches in rural areas and promotes the health of living systems in the ecosystem at different scales and multidimensionally in rurality.
