Behavioral Systems Analysis (BSA) in Public School Settings: The Impact of Asynchronous Training on the Accuracy of Designing and Structuring a Process Map for Principals

| Resumen: | The purpose of this study investigated the accuracy of responding when principals were asked to structure and design a process map. Specifically, this study evaluated the use of an asynchronous training package when designing and structuring a process map using a non concurrent multiple baseline across participants. The participants were asked to log into a “Process Mapping” Canvas shell and complete six modules (e.g., demographic survey, baseline, asynchronous training package, independent practice, maintenance, social validity) asynchronously and independently. Following the study, each participant received an email asking two debriefing questions with blank process maps attached. During the asynchronous training package, participants watched a pre-recorded video and walked through a guided practice of designing a process map. The process map quizzes were set as trials, which included a process map scenario with essay questions during baseline, independent practice, and maintenance conditions. The results showed that the asynchronous package made an impact on training principals to accurately design and structure a process map. This study adds to the current literature on incorporating the technologies of organizational behavior management (OBM) and behavioral systems analysis (BSA) in applied settings (i.e., public schools). |
