Whakarāpopotonga:Abstract Cultural heritage currently occupies the agendas of governmental, academic and collective entities as a priority issue, it is evident that such efforts are not enough to promote cultural values and ignore the considerations that a community has about what is cultural heritage and how to enhance it. Within the framework of the research "Recognition of cultural heritage in urban edges", pedagogical tools and practices were developed in order to identify the meaning of cultural heritage, prioritizing the knowledge and appropriation that the community has and how to enhance this value for identity purposes. The dynamics presented in this article use didactic transposition as a guiding principle [1], seeking to prioritize, understand, consolidate and energize popular knowledge so that these inputs can be used in the future, organizing and promoting with self-management tools the cultural resources identified and valued in the place by the community itself. Keywords: didactic transposition; participatory development; social entrepreneurship; cultural heritage.
