| Resumen: | El presente artículo ofrece un recorrido por bibliotecas y archivos españoles cuyos fondos nos permiten conocer el patrimonio musical de los siglos XVI, XVII y XVIII. Nos ha servido como guía la obra de los más representativos compositores de su tiempo, aquellos que gozaron de reconocimiento y fama. Los documentos no solo nos muestran sus creaciones, sino que también nos informan de su vida y de las prácticas musicales en sus diferentes contextos. Desde los templos hasta los teatros, pasando por salones y fiestas populares, la música se vivió como un elemento cotidiano e indisoluble de la cultura del periodo moderno. This paper offers an overview of spanish libraries and archives whose collections allow us to learn about the musical heritage of the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. The work of the most representative composers of their time, those who had recognition and fame, has served as a guide for us. The documents not only show us his creations, but also inform us about his life and musical practices in their different contexts. From churches to theaters, through palaces and popular festivals, music was experienced as an everyday and inseparable element of the culture of the modern period |
