The aim of this study is to identify the perceptions of university students about refugees, in terms of held information, rights, implications, hosting and social, educational and health responses. A questionnaire with open and closed questions was used to collect the data. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Sixteen students from the third year of Basic Education and sixteen from the third year of Nursing took part in the study. The results show similarities in perceptions of held information, refugees’ concept, implications of hosting and agreement with social, educational and health responses. Some differences were also found in the perceptions of the two groups, particularly in relation to refugee rights and social, educational and health responses. Implications for research and psychosocial intervention are discussed. <meta name='ValidationSchema' content='http://www.w3.org/2002/08/xhtml/xhtml1-strict.xsd'/>O processo de acolhimento dos refugiados é influenciado por diversos fatores, como as atitudes e perceções dos cidadãos dos países de acolhimento. São objetivos deste estudo identificar as perceções de estudantes universitários sobre refugiados nomeadamente sobre informação detida, direitos, implicações, respostas sociais e específicas de educação e saúde. Para recolha de dados utilizou-se um questionário com perguntas abertas e fechadas. Os dados foram tratados qualitativa e quantitativamente. Participaram no estudo 16 estudantes do 3º ano do curso de Licenciatura de Educação Básica e 16 do 3º ano do curso de Licenciatura em Enfermagem. Os resultados obtidos evidenciam semelhanças de perceções acerca da informação detida, conceito de refugiado, implicações do acolhimento e concordância com respostas sociais, educativas e de saúde. Foram identificadas também algumas diferenças nas perceções dos dois grupos sobretudo relativas a direitos dos refugiados, respostas sociais, educativas e de saúde. São discutidas implicações para a investigação e intervenção psicossocial. | |
