Through a mixed-methods study including surveys, observational data, and analysis of public outreach campaigns, we examine how narratives of the Trojan asteroids as ancient solar system relics contribute to science communication and identity development in learners. The study reveals that space missions focused on less familiar celestial bodies, like the Trojans, evoke curiosity and promote higher-order questions about solar system origins. Findings highlight the role of underexplored topics in expanding the reach of space education and recommend strategies to leverage science missions for broader educational impact in both formal and informal settings. | |
