Specifically, it examines the various ways in which military personnel serving the Vrbs could perish in a maritime context and the perception of such events. [...]we explore the different attitudes adopted to prevent and confront these deaths, both on the part of the Roman state, within the framework of official religion, and by the milites from a more intimate and individual perspective. The analysis is based on literary and epigraphic sources, primarily from the Imperial period.
