520 3 |a E-commerce, which has grown with globalisation and the spread of the Internet and information and communication technologies (ICT), plays an essential role in modern commerce. For many countries, it is a means to facilitate rapid, inclusive and sustainable economic growth. In STP, commerce is the basis of survival and sustenance of families. Despite the use of the Internet in STP, transactions continue to take place in the traditional way, the websites only serve as a source of information. The general objective of this research is to know the potential for the development of e-commerce in STP as well as the opportunities, challenges and risks for enterprises and entrepreneurs. It is hoped that the results will contribute to recommendations in different areas (urban and rural infrastructure, education, and others) to develop e-commerce, facilitate sustainable economic growth and overcome poverty levels, and support future research on the territory of the country.
