Beskrivelse
Resumen:This study explores the complexities of authenticity in leadership, focusing on its impact on organizational culture, employee motivation, and job satisfaction. By examining how authentic leadership influences organizational culture, the research highlights how authentic leaders contribute to a positive, supportive work environment. Authentic leaders, known for the level of self-awareness they portray, create trusting environments of openness and transparency, fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity, which ultimately enhances employee satisfaction. Utilizing phenomenological research as well as using a qualitative approach, focus group sessions were conducted to gather insights into the lived experiences of employees at a Franciscan university. The findings affirm the value of authenticity in leadership, revealing its pivotal role in shaping organizational culture, employee motivation, and job satisfaction. The study emphasizes these core traits of authentic leadership: honesty, genuineness, and being true to oneself. Themes of trust, vulnerability, and transparency emerged, along with the importance of communication, approachability, relatability, and equality. The relationship between authenticity, leadership, organizational culture, and employee well-being holds significant practical implications. The findings from this research can further guide leadership development programs interested in cultivating authenticity in leaders, promoting a stronger organizational culture, and increasing employee satisfaction.
