A partir de un enfoqueteórico y proyectual, se examina cómo estosespacios pueden transformarse en estructuras desoporte para la vivienda y el tejido comunitario,integrando programas que fortalezcan la vidabarrial y rescatando su valor histórico y patrimonial. The center of Santiago has experienced multiple urban transformations that have generated a significant number of structures in a state of obsolescence, especially in large interior voids, such as old movie theaters. These structures, once active in the cultural and social life of the city, have been relegated to abandonment or residual uses, despite their potential to contribute to urban renewal and neighborhood life.This research analyzes the evolution and obsolescence of these spaces, exploring their capacity for architectural and programmatic reuse in a context of housing crisis and land shortage. From a theoretical and projectual approach, it is examined how these spaces can be transformed into support structures for housing and the community fabric, integrating programs that strengthen neighborhood life and rescuing their historical and heritage value. | |
