Teatralidad, Identidad Nacional y Poder Militar: Análisis de los Procedimientos Simbólicos y Bélicos de las Fuerzas Armadas y de Orden en la Parada Militar 2023-2024

| Resum: | Los Estudios Teatrales en Chile han observado desde el lente metodológico de la Teatralidad o Performatividad manifestaciones sociales, movimientos estudiantiles, ceremonias indígenas, performances, entre otros diversos casos. A pesar de aquello, no se han estudiado ceremonias de las Fuerzas Armadas y de Orden, ni Paradas militares. Surge, la interrogante en cómo en estas ceremonias y desfiles militares pueden ser analizadas sus hitos y procedimientos al ser constructoras de símbolos de una identidad nacional además de una muestra de fuerza y poder bélico frente a otras naciones. La investigación permitiría aportar en la discusión del campo teórico del teatro en Chile, al abrir nuevos espacios de discusión, lo que permitiría reflexionar sobre la historia y cultura de nuestro país.En esta Tesis se plantea una investigación teórica y cualitativa centrándose en analizar la Teatralidad presente en la Parada Militar, realizada el 19 de septiembre en Parque O’Higgins en el marco de la conmemoración de las Glorias del Ejército. Por otro lado, se complementará con el concepto de Identidad Nacional para comprender mediante que estrategias se construye un discurso por los poderes del Estado de Chile.Considerando lo anterior, se selecciona como objeto de estudio la Parada Militar de los años 2023 y 2024, dada la posibilidad de presenciarla directamente, experiencia fundamental para la investigación. La ceremonia se realiza en la explanada del Parque O’Higgins, en el centro de Santiago de Chile, con la presencia de las principales autoridades del Estado (Ejecutivo, Legislativo y Judicial), junto a los comandantes de las Fuerzas Armadas (Ejército, Marina y Aviación) y de Orden (Carabineros y PDI), siendo además abierta al público. El desfile incluye escuelas y academias de formación, divisiones profesionales terrestres y aéreas, junto a sus bandas de guerra, que rinden honores al país, al Estado y a sus superiores.Esto se complementará con el registro de la transmisión en vivo disponible en YouTube de Meganoticias. En el caso particular se puede observar que al ser un acto de gran importancia, es transmitido por cadena nacional en directo, puesto que en la explanada del parque se distribuyen equipos, cámaras, drones y personas las cuales son las encargadas de las tomas que son transmitidas por televisión. Lo que también evidencia una intención de construir teatralidad mediante el tecnovivio, permitiendo observar con mayor detenimiento ciertos momentos de la ceremonia que no se pueden percibir como espectador presencial, esto con la finalidad de aportar al análisis.La ceremonia inicia con la llegada del Presidente/a, el ingreso del Club de Huasos y los pies de cueca. Luego, tras la solicitud de permiso, desfilan escuelas y bandas de guerra de las ramas militares y Carabineros. Continúan las divisiones del Ejército, Marina, Aviación y nuevamente Carabineros. Cierra con los Centauros Montados y la autorización final, marcando la retirada presidencial. Se abordan ocho hitos: llegada del Presidente Gabriel Boric, pies de cueca, solicitud de permiso, ingreso de la Escuela Militar, división Boinas Negras, aviones FACH, perros de Carabineros y el retiro del Presidente. Cada uno será analizado en sus dimensiones corporal, sonora, espacial, escenotécnica y de vestuario.Es por esto por lo que se plantea la siguiente pregunta general: ¿Cuáles son los aspectos de la teatralidad que emergen durante la experiencia en vivo y registrada de la Parada Militar 2023-2024 que amplifican la construcción de símbolos identitarios respecto del Estado-Nación y el poder bélico de las Fuerzas Armadas Chilenas?Como hipótesis, en los ocho momentos seleccionados de la Parada Militar emerge una teatralidad en el encuentro entre el Estado chileno, las Fuerzas Armadas y el público, tanto presencial como virtual. Esta se configura mediante materialidades simbólicas (corporales, sonoras, espaciales, de vestuario y escenotécnicas) que representan la identidad nacional reforzado su conexión con la audiencia y el imaginario colectivo. Las Fuerzas Armadas no solo consolidan un sentido identitario, sino que exhiben el poder bélico de sus divisiones, profundizando la autoridad al Estado. Los cinco conceptos que articulan la teatralidad en las Paradas de 2023 y 2024 poseen una carga simbólica ligada a valores nacionales, adquiriendo una dimensión material. Estas dimensiones, desplegadas implican una fuerte carga simbólica en la construcción de identidad nacional y del poder militar. A lo largo de los hitos se observa una relación estrecha entre Estado, Fuerzas Armadas y público, mediante estrategias de escenificación que refuerzan identidad nacional y autoridad. Theater Studies in Chile have observed social manifestations, student movements, indigenous ceremonies, performances, among other diverse cases, from the methodological lens of Theatricality or Performativity. Despite this, neither ceremonies of the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement nor military parades have been studied. The question arises as to how in these ceremonies and military parades their milestones and procedures can be analyzed as they are builders of symbols of a national identity as well as a display of strength and war power against other nations. The research would contribute to the discussion of the theoretical field of theater in Chile, by opening new spaces for discussion, which would allow us to reflect on the history and culture of our country.In this Thesis, a theoretical and qualitative investigation is proposed, focusing on analyzing the Theatricality present in the Military Parade, held on September 19 in Parque O'Higgins within the framework of the commemoration of the Glories of the Army. On the other hand, it will be complemented with the concept of National Identity to understand through what strategies a discourse is constructed by the powers of the State of Chile.Considering the above, the Military Parade of the years 2023 and 2024 is selected as the object of study, given the possibility of witnessing it directly, a fundamental experience for the investigation. The ceremony takes place on the esplanade of Parque O'Higgins, in the center of Santiago de Chile, with the presence of the main authorities of the State (Executive, Legislative and Judicial), along with the commanders of the Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Aviation) and Order (Carabineros and PDI), and is also open to the public. The parade includes training schools and academies, professional land and air divisions, along with their war bands, which pay honors to the country, the State and their superiors.This will be complemented by the registration of the live broadcast available on Meganoticias' YouTube. In the particular case, it can be seen that since it is an event of great importance, it is broadcast live on the national network, since equipment, cameras, drones and people are distributed on the park esplanade who are in charge of the shots that are broadcast on television. Which also shows an intention to build theatricality through techno-vivium, allowing a closer look at certain moments of the ceremony that cannot be perceived as an in-person spectator, this with the purpose of contributing to the analysis.The ceremony begins with the arrival of the President, the entry of the Huasos Club and the cueca feet. Then, after the permit request, schools and war bands from the military and Carabineros branches parade. The divisions of the Army, Navy, Aviation and again Carabineros continue. It closes with the Mounted Centaurs and the final authorization, marking the presidential retreat. Eight milestones are addressed: arrival of President Gabriel Boric, cueca feet, permit request, entry into the Military School, Black Berets division, FACH planes, Carabineros dogs and the retirement of the President. Each one will be analyzed in its bodily, sound, spatial, scenic and costume dimensions.This is why the following general question is raised: What are the aspects of theatricality that emerge during the live and recorded experience of the 2023-2024 Military Parade that amplify the construction of identity symbols regarding the Nation-State and the war power of the Chilean Armed Forces?As a hypothesis, in the eight selected moments of the Military Parade, a theatricality emerges in the meeting between the Chilean State, the Armed Forces and the public, both in person and virtual. This is configured through symbolic materialities (corporeal, sound, spatial, costume and scenic techniques) that represent the national identity, reinforcing its connection with the audience and the collective imagination. The Armed Forces not only consolidate a sense of identity, but also exhibit the warlike power of their divisions, deepening the authority of the State. The five concepts that articulate the theatricality in the 2023 and 2024 Parades have a symbolic load linked to national values, acquiring a material dimension. These dimensions, displayed, imply a strong symbolic load in the construction of national identity and military power. Throughout the milestones, a close relationship is observed between the State, the Armed Forces and the public, through staging strategies that reinforce national identity and authority. |
