520 3 |a Packed red blood cell transfusión is a necessary and indispensable medical practice in patient treatment and must be prescribed with full responsibility and scientific judgment. Hence, the need for health services to maintain an adequate supply of safe blood and ensure its proper use. This study aimed to determine the indications for the use of packaged red blood cells requiring transfusión of blood products and which services request them al the San Juan of Dios Ayaviri Hospital in Puno in 2024. The research method was descriptive, non-experimental and quantitative in approach, the population and sample consisted of 105 files, the data collection technique was documentary analysis, and the instrument was the documentary analysis form, where donor data were tabulated under the PRONAHEBAS regulations. The results indicated that the highest percentage was acute anemia with 30%, followed by hemorrhage (digestive, placental rupture, fractures, múltiple trauma, ectopic pregnancy) with 29%, in the range of hemoglobin for the use of packed red blood cells for a blood transfusión predominated whit ≤7.1 – 9 g/dl whit 34%, followed by ≤ 7g/dl with 27% and the service that predominated the most was gynecology-obstetrics with 42%, followed by surgery with 34%, obstetric center with 12%, for the age group of 16 – 35 years with 45% of the female gender required blood transfusión of packed red blood cells (PG), followed by the age group 36 – 45 years with 31%. Conclusión: Research shows that the indication for acute anemia in women aged 16 to 35 is more frequenthy requested in obstetrics and gynecology.
