Resumen:Tenants in the Sheridan Apartments, 2011 Fifth Ave., were shocked by notices they received Aug. 1 of rent increases ranging from $25 to $155 a month, effective Sept. 1. Law requires that tenants give landlords at least 20 days notice before moving out, so tenants who did not want to pay the increase only had 10 days to notify the landlord of their intentions. "We just want some security that if we stay, they're not going to keep raising the rent," said Lynne Frantel, who has lived in the apartment complex in the Denny Regrade for 18 years. In that time, she never had a rent increase.
