Resumen:This package contains a program description and miscellaneous brochures about the Seattle (Washington) Public Schools' tech prep program. The program description booklet is designed to show how a comprehensive vocational and applied technology program is being introduced at Nathan Hale High School in Seattle. Included in the booklet are the following: information on the Perkins Act grant used to fund the program and the initial stages of the program's implementation; program goals; description of special populations served and efforts to recruit them; student and program assessment; information on mentoring/shadowing (including steps and considerations in developing, implementing, and evaluating a mentoring program); job descriptions of the program staff members; information on the use and contents of student portfolios; 4-year and beyond planner for tech prep students; and selected statistical information on Seattle public school and community college district enrollments. Also included in the package are the following: brochure on tech prep offerings in business education; tech prep recruitment brochure; guide to services offered by the Seattle career center; guide for parents; transparency masters detailing the Boeing Tech Prep Program; guidelines for developing student recruitment videos; "Bridge '98: Ingraham High School 9th Grade Orientation Program"; and booklet of checklists to assess interest in different occupational areas.
