| Resumo: | This book about Logo programming and problem solving is designed to introduce preservice and inservice teachers to problem solving in a Logo programming environment. Such a unit of study can be an important part of an introductory computers in education course for educators. Although Logowriter--a version of Logo--was developed by Logo Computer Systems, Inc., primarily for use on the Apple II, MS DOS (IBM compatible), and Commodore microcomputers, no specific computer hardware or version of Logo is required to use the ideas presented in this book. The following topics are discussed: (1) getting started with Logowriter; (2) using REPEAT and turtle move mode; (3) color and RANDOM, shapes and STAMP, FILL and SHADE; (4) mixing text and graphics; (5) writing procedures and more than one procedure; (6) designing programs; and (7) music. Appendices include a description of Logowriter keys, keyboard stickers, and a list of quick word references. (34 references) (DB) |
