Popis
Abstrakt:A computer-based training program called the Maintenance Performance System (MPS) was developed and made operational in an Army divisional maintenance battalion. The primary purposes of the MPS were to monitor the daily technical activities of maintenance personnel by identifying maintenance strengths and deficiencies on both an individual and unit-level basis and to guide training managers to available training resources. The most significant use of MPS turned out to be in the area of guiding job assignments. The system also succeeded in routinely providing unique and valuable maintenance and performance training data; moreover, the cost of supporting the system was found to be acceptable. Possible future areas of utilization of the MPS include the compilation of a longitudinal database for use in targeting Army-wide skill deficiencies and fine-tuning instructional training curricula.
