520 3 |a In October 2007, the Oregon Association of School Libraries (OASL) invited the author to speak at their annual conference. The question they asked him was, "What information literacy and library research skills do academic librarians think entering college freshmen should have?" The author investigates this question in his home state of Oregon. He surveys Oregon school and academic librarians to discover what they think transitioning students need in terms of information literacy skills. After looking at the data from the survey of Oregon librarians, the author is filled with even more questions that deal with how librarians look at their graduating seniors/incoming freshmen in regards to their skills vis a vis information literacy. The survey underscores the need for both academic and high school librarians to talk to each other about what and how they are teaching information literacy to their students. (Contains 2 tables.)
