Durante sus paseos vespertinos, un caminante encuentra un papel con un pequeño poema dedicado a un animal marino, del cual ignora su identidad. Para resolver el enigma, el caminante acude a su amigo el pulpo y juntos dilucidan sobre el problema. Junto con esto, los amigos reflexionan sobre las principales amenazas que los hombres ejercen sobre los océanos y la importancia de crear medidas de conservación.
