Shrnutí:The theme of social participation as a process of collective construction-decontruction its approach, is pertinent from different realities and different spaces that emerge in a fabric of complex sociocultural relations that dialogue in a context where the consequences of scientific research must as responsibility and commitment, provide visible strategies for the balance of thought and action that humanity needs in the 21st century. Based on what has been stated, social participation and representative democracy play a significant role and, in turn, a joint relationship for the design of political initiatives that make visible scenarios loaded with uncertainties. From this interrelation, the article proposes to address the behavior of theses variables for the analysis of this event that has become a social fact, which involves social groups and public policy models that demand from their own reality, the logic of the social value of these categories theoretical today
