| Gaia: | This article analyzes the work process of the intellectual in Social Sciences of Central America from the premise of an "original sin" (origin within the political party, the imitative character of this region with respect to Europe, the explosion of private education that Form professionals in these fields and the lack of impact of the technological instrumentalization to this area of knowledge). It is argued that in the last decade two processes for the evolution of the Social Sciences begin to live in the region. The first is given by a growing sign of entrepreneurship in social scientists and the nascent need for greater instrumentalization. The second, a set of inverses in intellectual production, where the colonialist approaches to knowledge at methodological and technical level are criticized, they reproduce. An alternative route is proposed that passes through several dimensions. On the one hand, formation must correspond to the signs of the times, which means a Social Science willing to risk and question its eternal truths. Within Central American public universities this will represent the challenge of recognizing the area of extension or social action as a core sector for the construction of institutional legitimacy; there must also be a greater level of technical and technological instrumentation for social scientists. |
