| Sumari: | The objective of this study was to identify the plant species that were used by birds within the campus of University of El Salvador from april to june 2022 through fortnightly routes, where an intensive search methodology was applied for the identification of the bird species by physical characteristics and sounds, and the register of their activity. A total of 47 plant species, grouped in 43 genera, 25 families and 17 orders were registered being utilized for birds within the University campus during monitoring. The most representative families were: Fabaceae, Myrtaceae and Bignoniaceae. Regarding to birds, a total of 48 species were reported in the University campus, grouped in 43 genera and 21 families. The three most dominant species were: clay-colored thrush (Turdus grayi), great-tailed grackle (Quiscalus mexicanus) and white-winged dove (Zenaida asiatica). This research emphasizes the importance of vegetation within the university of El Salvador as a shelter for resident and migratory species of birdlife. |
