A comparison of the attitudes of selected college students in Texas and Harbin, China regarding selected methods of instruction

| Resumen: | This study investigated the similarities and differences between selected Texas college students enrolled at Stephen F. Austin State University and selected Harbin, China college students enrolled at HeiLongjiang Teacher-Training Institute toward five teaching methods, specifically, computer-assisted instruction, lecture method, discovery method, cooperative method, and problem solving approach according to sex/gender, and age. Questionnaires were written in two language versions, English and Chinese. One hundred and fifty-five students were selected for this study. Analysis data revealed that there was no significant difference between the students toward the five teaching methods regarding their gender and age, but a significant difference between the two groups in attitudes toward the selected methods (p =.0001). |
