| Abstrakt: | In this report, the search is continued for exemplary elementary science programs. Included is a chapter explaining the excellence in elementary science concept which touches upon: (1) goals; (2) characteristics of an ideal curriculum; (3) resources and materials; (4) administrative leadership; (5) classroom environment; and (6) program evaluations. Thirteen programs are described relating individual program history, goals, instructional methods, and method of evaluation. The report concludes with a discussion of what makes an exemplary program. This, the second search for exemplary programs, was begun in 1985 by the National Science Teachers Association and is its first repeat of a search in a specific area. (ML) |
