Whakarāpopototanga:This paper presents an analysis of the application of neuroscience in the production of digital educational resources for distance education. The article focuses on the understanding of the learning process seen from neuroscientific physiological aspects. To do so, it begins with the knowledge of the structure of the nervous system, particularly focusing on brain´s structures and functions that perceive external stimuli sensory level and internal stimuli of the learner. In addition, some more relevant aspects of distance education are mentioned as well as the importance of digital educational resources in thismodality and therefore in the production process in which aspects such as the learner´s perception (sight and hearing) is activated with the reading and visualization of the didactic resources that are most used in this modality, especially in virtual learning environments such as text, audio, video and image. Finally, the autor identifies aspects that underlielearning such as motivation, emotion, attention and memory, as well as the teacher´s role as producer of the digital educational resources in the distance education modality and the importance of knowing about the fundamentals of neuroscience in learning.
